Wednesday, modeling crazy day.

Townhouse rendering is crazy, especially with AO.
We had our little render farm in school. Running around finding computers to render, and moving around to check whether it crashes or not.
It took me 3 computers to get mine done, with only 200 frames.
Imagine Arthur, I think I will probably kill myself or something.

I was glad I managed to get everything done?
HOWEVER, I need to re-render some of the layers, like. MY HORROR. AO.
BOOHOOHOO.

Anyway, during the 3 hours spare time.
Ruiting accompanied me to Holland Village to get some decorations for my sunday 21st party.
The main thing was to find a cookie monster balloon.

Sad thing is, they didn't have it there :(
So, I just bought three packets of balloon. Now I think about it, I think it's quite ex.

I think Ruiting had a sudden craving or something, or since we were going to Holland V? She wanted to go Everything with Fries.

To be honest, I never been to Everything with Fries before, but I heard about it tons of time.

 So, she got this Grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and I got this salmon in a bowl thing.
I thought it was curry at first.
She got curry fries and I got Sour Cream and oninon.

 The portion is quite big right? For an average of $12?
I was so damn full with the fries.
I love the salad, especially the bread.
Fries, was alright, but it was way too dry for me?
I had to gulp down water.
The taste was strong, I think with what I ordered? It was kind of salty throughout.

I am so going to go back and try their nutella tart. RUITING?

"Just read an article on Aardman Animation's new Christmas CG Feature "Arthur Christmas". Some frames took 20-30 hours to render! So 1 second could have taken a month to render.... that is if you're using 1 machine.... :P "

This is what my lecturer posted on our FMS DVFX group, and now I am curious in reading that article.

BUT!!!!

It's crazy!!! To take 20-30 hours to render some frames? OMFG. Thanks god they invented batch render, render farm, THOUGH it still took damn long for them to render.
All the polygons and quality stuffs for them to render.

For those not in media/film/animation related industry.
1 Frame is like erm, a frame. A single still, no movement, nothing.
1 sec is like 24/25 frames. Though there are till 50/60 and the newer ones 72, depending on the quality, format etc.etc.
so, 1 minute is like 24/25 * 60
1 hour is 24/25* 60 * 60 and if they takes 20-30 hours to render.
That's estimated,
24 * 60 * 60 * 25?



OMFG



The craziness of rendering. It already kills me when one single frame takes minutes to render, imagine hours. O.M.G

2011.10.15 I ice SKATE

With the new time table, I got class on Saturday.
3D modeling I, organic modeling.

Bobby is really cool and nice, and I didn't even realise he was korean!
It's like the two good ones from Korea! Can I like go there work someday?

We modeled an adidas bottle as our "test",
and it was really quite fun, though the hotkeys he teaching us can be quite confusing.

Is going to model something cute next week!

Went back home first, since I wasn't able to find my gloves in the morning, so might as well not bring anything out.
Had lunch and start preparing, while Tonton takes a nap.

I brought my Peanut Butter Cookies along, and was real happy that the others liked it.
Need to cut down on the sugar a little more, cause it seems to be on the sweeter side thanks to the Peanut Butter.
Maggie was eating non stop.
I was really happy to see her eating them. :)
Got souvenirs from Maggie and Katie.

and Couple Cup Mat from Taiwan ; Katie

OH, and was real, real, real happy that Katie loved the hp pouch that I knitted for her :)

The counter people quitted, so it's a total new batch of people.
To be honest, I do not like them at all, first impression counts ah?

We had dinner afterwards at Bukit Batok, because I went going on saying that I want to drink Gong Cha.
BUT, the queue turned me off once we reached there.

Had dinner and chat a little and went home :)

Migraine was bad, so I practically zonked out after washing up.

2011.10.11 & 12 First Week of School

Yeah, first week of school ,

It's a little tiring for me, cause I am still trying hard to sleep early and wake up earlier.
Too used too sleeping "early" in the morning already.
Body clock went haywire.

So, with the new timetable, every Tuesday is horror.
I got a 9am - 6pm school classes, and a 6.50pm - 9.50pm Japanese class at night.

We did rigging, it wasn't that bad.
It was a nightmare back in Poly days, I couldn't really understand what I was doing.
Albert actually explained very well haha.

Did the basic skeleton of the human!

Texture and Shaders was fun too! I need to keep myself awake and attentive cause I am really bad in some shaders here n there.
Lect a korean,Ashley, and she is pretty when she was 20!

Had PP group meeting too, and our consultant officially changed to Albert, though Mervyn is still somehow binded to our group. HAHA.
Need to show albert our models next week for a look.

Japanese lesson still fun, I had to rushed though, and got myself fingerfood for dinner again.
Onishii sensei still unwell, her eyes got infection from contact lenses apparently, and she was hospitalised for a day!
Hope she is okay now!

The first thing I reached home, was to wash up and sleep.
So tired from the crazy hours of school and classes, Tuesday a hell.

We had lights for Wednesday class, same lect, Ashley, we played around with the 1,2,3 point lighting.
I have yet to finish up them though.

Had PP group pitch again, to the Cohort 10 people, and we can change groups too since it's the next sem already.
But most of us stick to what we have before, talk about loyalty ah.

Tonton joining our group though, hooray!

Ngee Ann Poly.

Went back to Ngee Ann Poly on 28th September as Maggie needed to apply for her part-time diploma.
So, tonton and I accompanied her there :)

To be honest, I wasn't really in a good state that day, because of some reasons.
Please just BLOODY HELL LEAVE ME ALONE. thank you very much.



Anyway, we only realised that the part time diploma Maggie is looking at, isn't for what she wanted, it's for another course.
Good thing we went with her, otherwise she apply into wrong course *faints*.

We ranged up Andrew, and met up with him for lunch @ Makan Place, since he was around SIM collecting his school stuffs.

I didn't have appetite at all, and just settle for some dessert which I didn't even finish.
AHHH, I was looking forward to my Nasi Lemak actually.

We went on seperate ways after that, home that is.

tonton and I went to watch Abuction after NP trip.
I still can't get the fact that Taylor is YOUNG. damn it. He look so damn mature?

The movie isn't bad actually, better than what I expect.

I like how the movies goes, it got it ups and downs, so it's not boring at all.
The impact is there, blah, blah, blah.

I was excited throughout the show actually.
The stuffs planned out is really cool, and you don't know who is good or not actually.

Didn't regret watching.

MORE BLEACH after Abuction.

That's the last day of PP for Year 1 Sem 2.
The day for our presentation.
Yeah, I was nervous like always, but not as nervous as Dee, as she is the one who did the talking for the entire group during the presentation.
I am just there pressing the slides, and it's so funny, how the others wanted it to be fast, and the lecturers wanted it to be slow.
I am stuck in between.

The presentation went well for our group actually  :)
Lects didn't have anything else to say :)

So, after the presentation, the entire group went to Clarke Quay for dinner, with Mervyn.
I sat in Mervyn's car with Weeteng and Jinkee, who was being mervyn navigator.

Gossiping about this and that on the way there.

We wanted to eat Mr Curry in the first place?
Apparently, there this groupon offer going on, and that day happened to be the last day for them to claim, so the waiting list is long.
We went over to waraku instead.

Got myself curry at waraku too. HAHAHA Curry the reason we went to Clarke Quay.
Jinkee was so sad that his servings look so small compared to ours, since he is such a big eater.

Oh, and I took some instax in school that day too!

at IMAX, in 3D!!!!

Seriously, I am not really a fan of 3D, cause I wear specs.
Wearing an additional specs just means troublesome huh?
I was fidgeting throughout, adjusting them, taking them out, re-wearing, taking them out again, it repeats.
The 3D wasn't that bad though :D

The screen, okay, it's big, the seats are bigger, then?
I prefer going for digital at Cathay, actually?

I got my SGH appointment, so I missed school in the morning.

A change of medicine again, and they listed my previous medicine as my drug allergy.
CT scan postpone till next check up, which is 6 months later.

Friday the 13th, I kept getting injured by jellybean accidentally.

Good kids, actually went back to school with Alfred to do maya with jellybean.
The little ones that I will play with on Alfred's car

Watched PRIEST with Jelly and Wan Chen (is it wan chen or just chen) at Jurong Point
The show was so so, all the nice parts are only at the TRAILER lor.

But I like how they portray the only human vampire kinda thing?  It's really different from the normal vampires movies you see nowadays.

HD Interview shoot @ my home.
I am glad, so I don't need to wake up too early.

I stopped my medicine, eyes got swollen for no reason, and mum worried that it might be the medicine fault. :(

Mum made the two of us go JP "walk walk", she said we been nuaing at home too much, actually she just wanna us to get bread for her.

Massaged :D

Bought $10 worth of bread :P and old chang kee for dinner.
Parents bought Rojak too.
Thought we could share the old chang kee, but by the time we reached home, parents finished their dinner already.

Alfred came over to help Maya, and helped to clear food :D

I didn't know I had the free cake thing, since I didn't claim the one suppose to be for my birthday last year.

I always wanted to try it.

Tried the birthday flavour. A little too sweet for me, and I kinda just started coughing.
Ain't a sweet tooth, I can't take sweet stuffs without coughing badly for the rest of the day, and that is if I am lucky.



went to sing K @ Teo Heng @ NTU Alumni afterwards.

we splited room.
Weeteng, Ruiting, Jellybean and I one room.
Waine, junxian, elson and melvin one room.

I always hear the guys talking about it, but didn't get a chance to go?
It's not that bad, it's charged by hours and room, and the selection of songs aren't bad, at least I get to find those I want.
Sound system so so. over all okay la, not bad, good place to sing and still save some money.
No tibits and drinks though, so no compulsory surcharge etc.

Went to Ramen @ Tiong Bahru.
Am very very happy.
Haven't had a meal there since don't know how long ago, at least last year.
Been always talking about it but didn't have a chance.
am a little dissapointed though, the standard kinda drop.
BUT, I still <3 the char siew slices.

Totally a waste of my time, I can use this period of time and do other useful stuffs.
