Post-SBA 2013

Singapore Blog Awards 2013

SBA 2013 had been over for 2 weeks and here comes the overdue aftermath post.

Getting into SBA 2013 as a finalist had been an accomplishment for me throughout my 1 year plus blogging journey.
There were times when I neglected the blog and go on a hiatus for weeks or even a few months.
I never expect myself to get in the first place and was, am still, grateful for the opportunity and chance.
It was indeed a learning experience for me and many out there as well.

Sadly to say, I didn't win.
I am not exactly sad because I knew that the others were better than me, and there are so many things for me to learn from them.

So, congratulations to the winners out there!
CONGRATS MINT!!! For wining our category!

SBA 2013 was not just an award giving event for us, it was also a event of gatherings.
I was so glad to meet and see bloggers whom I had not seen for a very long time.
Of course, we ended up taking lots of photos!
(but some of them are blur :( )

The theme was SIXTIES.
Thanks to Joey (whom I knew from YOG) gave me this pretty dress of hers, so I could dress up for the event!

Here's my OOTD!

Ending the post with a selfie of mine!

Blogging is tiring at the same time, fun, very fun.
I shall never give up on this!

JBL Micro Wireless EVERY-WHERE.

When I receive the JBL Micro Wireless I was amazed by the size of it.
Just how small this speaker is?
Will it be loud enough?

Man, this Micro Wireless is so small that it fits nicely on my palm.
Plus, it's really light.

I am using it almost everywhere, and really you can bring it everywhere.
It is wireless BUT,
it also came with a audio plug so fret not if your device do not have bluetooth.

It's really so small that you can just pop it in your bag and bring it out.
Plus, the audio isn't bad too!
I still can feel the bass of the songs.

Here are some places that you can bring the JBL Micro Wireless with you to :

and many more.

There are a lot of places you can bring it to, and even better if you got friends with the same speaker,
you can hook them up together and make a mega speaker.

If you have a JBL Micro Wireless, where will you bring it to?

What songs do you listen to? with JBL.

Like I said before in my previous entry, I really love listening to songs on YouTube, especially covers.
There are like so many talented singers out there, especially those who interpret songs their way and sing it in a different way from the originals.

I like browsing through for covers and dance music depends on my mood.
I do not know how to properly classify them, but what I mean by dance music is like,
just try to imagine STEP UP.

I do not have proper speakers so I listen them off straight from my MBP or iMAC,
but thanks to being shortlisted in SBA2013, I got myself not 1 but 3 JBL SPEAKERS
HOORAY.

I am using them 3 in different places and situations, and the JBL Flip mainly stay with my iMac.

What I love about the JBL Flip is that it fits NICELY under my screen in that slot I don't even know what's for.

IF you can't tell, my table is full of stationary and stuffs, so when the JBL Flip fits nicely in the slot I was really happy.
It's space saving since it don't really take up extra spaces.
My table is messy enough.

and it's just so simple to set up, my iMac auto detect the BlueTooth once the FLIP was turned on.

I am going to share what I am listening/watching recently.

Basically,

When working I love to listen straight off YouTube or FM91.3,
I can sometimes get too sick of what is in my phone already.

There are so many songs to choose from, not to forget playlists,
and some can even last me the entire day or even more.

Call me slow or something, so recently I was hooked in listening to
KPop Star Season 2.
If you didn't know, KPop Star is a singing competition in Korea, which they find the next KPop or Gayo singer.
There are really, really, really many good singers and contestants in the competition,
and I adore many of their voices.

Lucky me, KPop Star has their very own YouTube account which they uploads cuts of the show.

and here are my favourite few videos.
So many diamonds waiting to be polished and shine through the season.

How nice can this 16 years old girl sing? I love that voice of hers.
The innocent feel to it but yet so damn powerful.

and here's Andrew Choi, he is such a talented song-writer/producer,
he did a lot of SM Entertainment artistes songs and his voice
really do melts girls hearts.

and the winner of Season 2.

They are currently signed to YG Entertainment where my favourite group, 2NE1 and Big Bang are,
I can't wait to listen to more of their playful tunes and songs.
Talented siblings.

and throughout the seasons there are a few YouTube singers/stars that join the competition,
so I subscribed to my favourite few.

I particularly love this video of hers, she did all the background and vocals all by HERSELF.
Why are they so talented?

and there's

Guys that can play and sing are just so attractive.

Those are the YouTube videos/Singers/covers that I have been listening recently?
There are still the famous mainstreams one like

So what songs do you listen to and who's your favourite YouTube singer?
Share some with me now!

Chilling at home with JBL.

Friends that know me personally, know that I am a playful and hyper girl.
People said that I got friends everywhere and got endless gatherings and meet ups to go.
Practically a busy cookie.

Indeed I am,
but
when I am at home,
I turned into an Otaku, or what people called "Nerd".

Home is where I felt at ease the most.
I chill and relax and surprisingly to others, I don't do and talk much at home.
I practically just stayed infront of the laptop or take a nap or watch tee-vee with the parents.

I am always into Dramas, Animes and YouTube videos.
I can randomly search for something and link to something else and it just carries on.
There would be endless searching and recommendations on the side bar just make it worse.

I will be so engrossed in the videos that I don't know what's going on around me.

Not only videos, I listens to covers and like turning on my iTunes when I am in my room.
Or the radio, like FM 91.3

I don't have a good speaker so most of the time I just rely on either my iPhone or my Laptop straight.
My MacBook Pro has been with me since Poly Year 3 back in 2010 and the audio is weakening.
There were times I could barely hear certain songs or videos even when I blasted the maximum volume.
Thus, I only have my earpiece to rely on.
There are pros and cons to it, and sadly more cons than pros.

1. I won't be able to hear what's going on around me and might know if my parents are calling for me, which they do quite often since I am the only child.
2. I am restricted and won't be able to move far from the laptop.

You don't know how glad am I to receive the JBL blue tooth speakers, they are like a savior.
YES, I often use the word 'savior' for a few items but they DO really aids me in a lot of ways and I am using them frequently.
Just plain U-S-E-F-U-L I say.

I can have the speaker charged and it lasts me for a few days, and sometimes I use it to charge my phone at home when I am plain lazy to walk to the plug.

It simple, I just let it connect to bluetooth and TADAH,
JBL does it's magic.

I simply love listening to songs with JBL speakers,
I can feel every single beat to it, which makes me really happy.
I like happy music and dance songs, and I love swaying along with it.

Plus, I does my crunches and lifts with songs so the beats help me in counting.
I do them to the beat.

The audio system is just so different and it just feels like the songs amplifies throughout my room
and that is really pleasant to hear.

Now, I can listen to my songs / radio stations / YouTube covers / videos in peace.

Singapore Blog Awards 2013 - I AM IN!

Singapore Blog Awards 2013 is here!

Cookie is really delighted to scream out loud!

I GOT IN JBL BEST POP/MUSIC BLOG AS A FINALIST!!!

Looking back, it's been a year plus since I started to blog properly.
It's been tough and yes, I had lots of fun throughout.

Getting in to SBA2013 is a big recognition for me,
it just shows how the effort I put in are rewarded.

There are still so many things for me to learn and improve.
Especially my English typing skills, which I still tends to direct-translate-from-chinese now and then, not forgetting my lousy grammar.

I thank many of you friends and family and readers out there for supporting my blog throughout this one year.
Of course, the fellow bloggers whom I am close with, their endless support kept me going.
You know who you are, I love you people.

There are a number of bloggers that I knew are in SBA2013 too,
so happy for them too.

Getting into JBL Best Pop/Music Blog category came as a shock to me.
Just look at the list of finalists!
Most of them are so "pro" in writing, and niche in music.
Mine, just a lifestyle blog, going through their blogs just make me feel how amazing they are.

I was really glad to find familiar faces in the category too, whom I knew from blogging!
Like 014, Noelle Mikazuki (http://www.noellemikazuki.com/)
Mint Leong (http://mintleong.blogspot.sg/)
Tselyn (http://tsetsk.blogspot.sg/)
and Bernard (http://chords-haven.blogspot.sg/)

really nice to meet the others at the briefing too :D

Coming from what 014 (Noelle) say, a consumer point of view, I hope I can show you my view on pop/music.

Heh, I do have music background you know.

I was once in Chinese Orchestra since Primary 2 throughout Primary 6,
and on & off during my Secondary School days which I end up playing around instead.
I still do miss the time where I pick up my instrument and play.
There were times that I dreamt playing in an Orchestra, performing for others.

I guess since mum expose me towards music and arts since young,
I was easily attracted to classical music and such.
I love musicals, and am totally amaze by their vocals.

Hmm, I like listening to covers and YouTube singers too.
Like David Choi, Jayesslee... etc

OH OH I was so happy to be able to listen to Jayesslee live last year during Youth Festival.
It was A-MA-ZING.

Okay, let's not forget fellow bloggers who does covers on YouTube too.

My fellow finalist for JBL Best Pop/Music Blog

Here's my favourite song of hers

Thanks to JBL, each of us finalists get to bring home 3 JBL Speakers, which cost around $200 each.
WOAH.

To be honest, I never knew about JBL prior to this.
You can totally imagine how shocked and amazed I was to know that JBL is everywhere.
Literally, E-VER-Y-WHE-RE.

They are in your car as speakers,
or movie theatres like in SHAW.

CONCERTS, like MAROON 5!!

Each of us were given this 3 speakers :

JBL Charge

JBL FLIP

and the JBL MICRO WIRELESS

I brought the JBL Charge out with me for the Kukup trip.
Oh boy, I can't describe how amazing the sound are.

We used it in our car and it's like  just a speaker but it feels like surround sound system!
Too amazing.

I was so thankful for the JBL Charge too for the charging function,
it totally save my phone from dying otherwise how do I use the map app in Malaysia,
we would have gotten lost!

Thanks JBL and OMY.sg for the speakers,
can't wait to try the other speakers and enjoy my music and drama shows.
I do not need to rely on my earpiece any more!
