[Food Review] Attap House @ Fusionopolis

A week plus back I attended a food tasting session at Attap House over at Fusionopolis (One North).

Fusionopolis basically was like my second "home" for the past few years.
Was there for 2 years at my Art Fusion and worked for 2 year plus 3 at Double Negative.
All at the same building.

There wasn't much food options back then, I could use one hand to count them.
I am so glad there are many more options now with the newly build extension.

Attap House offers diners an authentic and nostalgic experience with it's unique Nonya and local delights and concept.

ATTAP HOUSE
#01-04 Fusionopolis Galaxis,
1 Fusionopolis Place
Singapore 138522

With both indoor and outdoor seating area, Attap House can fit up to 80 people.
It also offers a wide range of food and beverages inspired by our Asian delights.

Attap House dishes range from signature mains
(Satay Mee Hoon, Braised Hokkien Noodle...)
to side dishes like Assam Fish, Otah Otah and
to tea breaks, snacks and breakfast.

A few of the dishes like their Otah Otah, peanut butter and nonya kaya toast are freshly-made by them in-house.

Happy to have Yongwei along to help finish up the food!!

Let me share with you what we ate that day!

There's a wide range of drinks selection too!
Been drinking their Ice Honey Lemon for the entire night :x

Can I say how much I loved their bread?
It's so well toasted!
I love the taste of the texture in my mouth, it's not burnt and yet it still have this soft but toasted crispy feeling to it.
To me, the bread really matters in toasts, so I really love how the bread taste making me wanna take more bites.

Check out the Assam Fish ($5.00) and Satay Mee Hoon ($6.80).

I am not really a spicy food person so I can't really say much about the spicy level.
The Assam Fish isn't too sour but it could taste even better if the fish absorbs more of the sauce.
Just simply pour the sauce over the fish while eating!

I love the Satay Mee Hoon sauce.
They grind the peanuts on their own which gives the sauces a more authentic feeling.
Some people prefer softer mee hoon but some preferred the bouncier meehoon texture.
I personally like the softer meehoon so Attap House's Satay Mee Hoon suits my taste well.

Pork Chop Sambal Fried Rice ($6.50)

Don't judge it with the black sauce.
It actually taste like our local Char Siew sauce, a slight sweetness to it.
Plus the meat was really tender.
My favourite dish out of the ones I tried that day.

I am craving for more as I am typing this.

Cashew Fried Rice with Fresh Chicken Breast ($6.50)

The cashew inside are also hand fried by Attap House.
The fragrance of the cashew really enhanced the fried rice.
I ended up picking all the cashew nuts out first before I ate the rest of the fried rice.

Braised Hokkien Mee ($5.90)

I was slightly disappointed by their Hokkien Mee.
I love noodles from the Zi Char stores like Ee Mee, Hokkien Mee and Hor Fun.

Just didn't feel that the noodles absorbed the sauce and it felt like a waste as the sauce really tasted rich.

We got a chance to pop into the kitchen and see the chef himself prepare this dish too!

Their sauce was made with broth cooked with prawn shells to bring out the taste thus I think it's a waste that the noodles taste a little tasteless.

 Bobo ChaCha

Don't forget the snacks and desserts!

Waffle with Kaya & Peanut Butter

Freshly made, their kaya spread have a stronger caramalize sugar taste that you won't be able ti find anywhere else.
The peanut butter jam are made in-house too, with cashew added in it to bring an additional sweetness.
