Rachel Liang, 梁文音 黃色夾克 Fan Meet!

Attended Rachel 梁文音 fan meet over at Switch by Timbre last Saturday 16th March 2013. Won a pair of tickets thanks to UFM1003, and brought Debra along with me~

If you don't know, 梁文音 Liang Wen Yin was a contestant in Taiwan singing competition,
2nd season of 超級星光大道 One Million Stars.

She is known to have this soothing and gentle voice of hers, and suits ballads really well.
This time she is back in Singapore to promote her latest album, Yellow Jacket 黃色夾克

The group of us were really hungry and we ended up ordering Switch by Timbre speciality Roasted Duck Pizza!
It's really so nice!!!! I wouldn't mind bringing the crew over to have a bite and drink!

They got some audience up to learn and dance her song Yellow Jacket, and the winner gets to take a photo with her.

There was this other game how every table are given a plate.
We are supposed to fill the plate with interesting stuffs to attract Liang Wen Yin attention and pick one item.

We started going crazy.
Pulling everything we could think of and find from our bags.

Ended up with food and unexpected items indeed.
We even left a slice of pizza on the plate for her, which she actually took a bite to it!

Shannon was crazily high, haha.
We were like laughing like some mad people.
He even jokingly pulled out his ring and offered her and gaining himself the nickname 钻石男(diamond guy)

Liang Wen Yin ended up choosing the brownie that Debra got me instead!

It was really funny, and our table ended up with lots of laughters and shaking of head.

One had to try his or her best to gain Liang Wen Yin attention and Shannon was like so nervous doing it.
He practically told her he watched her YouTube videos every other two days and really like her a lot.
Plus how he is a blogger so he can help her promote if she ever release a English album.

We ended up laughing mad hearing him.
I think Liang Wen Ying was shocked but it did attracted her attention and she chose him in the end!
 Happy Shannon is happy!

Not only did he got a chance to take a picture with her,
he got to bring home the autographed big poster she signed on the spot!
She even wrote "不准偷亲我!"(do not secretly kiss me) on the poster.
Our table were really mad with laughters.

She sang a few songs and her voice was really nice especially with the soothing ballads.
I really like her smile she has and the short hair really suits her a lot.

Had fun with the other winners too! Who happened to be fellow bloggers haha.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

[sponsored advertorial]

Being the TOP Selling Sunscreen in Japan (since 2011)
BIORE UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is now available in Singapore!!!

Biore send over a bowl, a lemon together with their UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

Biore products suits me well so I am really glad to try the product first hand!

This UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence won multiple awards in Asia,
and with it's water-based and high SPF formula,
it's totally perfect for hot and humid climate in Singapore!

Personally, I seldom put sunscreen when I head out unless the sun is really bright and I need to be outdoors.
Don't do it like me!
You need sunscreen protection both indoors and outdoors!

I really hate the stickiness how normal sunscreen lotion gets thus I avoid them as much as possible.

Am really glad this particular one is watery base!!!
I don't feel any stickiness or oiliness on my face at all!

With high SPF and it's so light and refreshing, no wonder it's Top Selling in Japan.
The hyaluronic acid and citrus extract hydrates your skin too :D

The lotion might be white itself but fret not,
with just a few swipes it's totally gone!

No one residues left on any part of your skin~

Just one more squeeze like above and you can see how thick it is, and its enough for the entire face.

It's also suitable for both the body and face so it's like a 2 in 1 for me.
Saving time, money and space in using two separate sunscreen instead.

Retailing at $18.90/ 50ml.
Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is available at selected Supermarkets, Hypermarkets and Pharmacies.

Two Chefs Eating Place

[food tasting]

Two Chefs Eating Place is a popular Zi Char stall over at the west.
I have been there a few times myself and really love the food there.

Thanks to OpenRice and Estelle, I went back there for a food tasting makan session!

Two Chefs Eating Place
雙廚菜館
BLK 116 Commonwealth Crescent
#01-129 Singapore 140116
+65 6472 5361
Opening Hours:
Monday : 5pm to 11.30pm

Tuesday - Sunday : 11.30am to 2.30pm; 5pm to 11.30pm

Closed on every last Monday of the month.

It's popular and well known especially among zi char lovers,
even my friends and relatives visit them too.

Just a short 5-10 minutes walk from
Commonwealth MRT, Exit B,
Two Chefs is always crowded with long queues waiting.
Calling ahead to reserve is highly encouraged though you won't be seated till everyone (or mostly) arrived and ready to order your dishes.

I have always loved eating zi char, and even though the surrounding might be noisy,
zi char gave me a very homely feel.
It brings people closer with each other while having zi char.

Prices are reasonable and affordable as their servings size are definitely worth the money.
Most of the dishes comes in 3 sizes, small, medium and large.

There are a few specialities that they are really famous for which attracts their customers base.
I always ended up there ordering that same few specialities all the time.

We did for the same, at the Makan Session, wanting to try their famous specialities.

Drunken Cockles 醉蛤
Drunken Cockles 醉蛤
$6.00

This is like an appetizer dish.
Apparently very popular among most of my friends.

I am not a fan of cockles plus I can't take spicy food,
I ended up trying the dish after all since I was so curious how it really taste like.

Cockles is still not my choice of food,
yet I can understand why my friends and other customers like this dish.
The cockles do not have the raw taste to it
(which I really hated)
and are cooked nicely with the flavoring to it yet keeping it's own freshness.

Vegetable w/Egg, Salted Egg & Century Egg 三蛋时菜
Vegetable w/Egg, Salted Egg & Century Egg 三蛋时菜
Vegetable w/Egg, Salted Egg & Century Egg 三蛋时菜
$8 (s) $10 (m) $14 (l)

This is my all time favourite dish over at Two Chefs.

You might ask why with a plate of spinach and 3 types of eggs will cost you $8.00,
but it's totally worth it.

The spinach, the 3 eggs and the sauce are the best combination.
The spinach is so soft and sometimes I ended up gulping it down without bitting.

We always pour the sauce, together with the egg and spinach, on our rice as some sort of flavouring,
and I can say it makes my rice even more appetizing.
The dish always ended up swipe clean by us even with all the sauce.

With the salted egg and century egg you might worry whether it's salty but I can assure you that it's not.

Butter Ribs 牛油排骨
Butter Ribs 牛油排骨
Butter Ribs 牛油排骨
$8 (s) $10 (m) $16 (l)

The Butter Ribs are the one that attracted most customers to Two Chefs.
The pork ribs are coated with their special butter milk powder.
Preparing the special butter milk powder actually takes up a lot of time.

It's sweet and do not have a strong milky taste and amazingly goes well with the ribs.
The ribs are also tender and soft to bite;
with the butter melting in the mouth, who can resist eating them?

Golden Mushroom Beancurd 金针菇豆腐
Golden Mushroom Beancurd 金针菇豆腐
Golden Mushroom Beancurd 金针菇豆腐
$8 (s) $10 (m) $12 (l)

The sauce for this dish goes well with your rice too.
I have always liked "tofu" or beancurd and golden mushroom, so I might be slightly bias towards this dish.

I really like how they make their sauce,
not too salty, not too starchy.

Fried Prawns served with Mayonnaise 沙律虾球
Fried Prawns served with Mayonnaise 沙律虾球
Fried Prawns served with Mayonnaise 沙律虾球
$15 (s) $20 (m) $25 (l)

Fried Prawns and Mayonnaise easily attract the younger crowds.

The prawns are fried nicely and are coated with meat floss and mayonnaise.
The mayonnaise are slightly sweet but yet with the meat floss you will find it delicious.
By coating the mayonnaise over the fried prawns always allow all of them have ample supply of mayonnaise instead of letting you dip it over a plate.

Omelette 芙蓉蛋
Omelette 芙蓉蛋
$5 (s) $8 (m) $10 (l)

I always enjoy ordering Omelette at Zi Char places, it gives me the homely feeling.
It's simple yet nice.

Their omelette are fried to a slight brown sides and will have a little cripsy feeling to the outside yet still soft inside.

I think omelette can never go wrong.

Chicken Soup 鸡汤
Chicken Soup 鸡汤
Chicken Soup 鸡汤
$13

First of all, I couldn't find this under their menu and it's not always available,
so do ask the waitress/waiter if you are interested!

This wasn't ordered during our makan session but I would love to share it with you people.
I am in love with it from the very first mouth I drank.

This chicken soup is amazing!
I had it with my friend and we ended up ordering an extra portion of it!

There's half a chicken in every portion,
and each portion is just nice for a table of 4-5.

You can tell they put in effort brewing the Chicken Soup.
The chicken is really tender and soft, easily tearing apart with your spoon.
It's really smooth to eat it down too.

The soup is the tastiest part since it had extracted the essence of the chicken and gives off a very nice aroma.

Definitely something I would like to drink on a cold and wet day.
It just warms me up from deep inside.

Two Chefs works really fast and even though the customers are endless,
they never chase and rush people off.
Which, I think is what brings people back there.
They are not arrogant even with the superb quality of food.

The price stayed the same throughout the years there,
(partially because they own the place, I think)
and with their friend attitudes,
who won't want to go back again?

Anyway not forgetting some photos with the other bloggers before I end this post.

Look how happy everyone are while dining.
